Encryption is one of the primary technologies used to protect information within Army Flight Logbook.

Whether you're signing into your account, synchronizing flight records, uploading documents, or viewing reports, encryption helps protect your information while it travels across the Internet and while it is stored within our infrastructure.

Frameworks Holdings LLC uses modern encryption technologies and trusted cloud infrastructure to reduce the risk of unauthorized access to customer information.

While no security measure can guarantee absolute protection, encryption is an essential part of our layered security strategy.


What Is Encryption?

Encryption is the process of converting readable information into an encoded format that can only be accessed by authorized systems using the appropriate cryptographic keys.

In simple terms:

Without encryption:

Flight Record → Anyone intercepting the data could potentially read it.

With encryption:

Flight Record → Encrypted Data → Only authorized systems can decrypt it.

Encryption helps protect information against interception, unauthorized disclosure, and tampering.


Where Encryption Is Used

Army Flight Logbook uses encryption throughout the platform.

Examples include:

  • Account authentication

  • User sign-in

  • Flight synchronization

  • Company Management

  • Uploaded documents

  • Reports

  • Application settings

  • Payment verification

  • Customer support communications

  • Web browsing


Encryption in Transit

Whenever your device communicates with Army Flight Logbook, that connection is encrypted.

Examples include:

  • Logging in

  • Saving a flight

  • Downloading reports

  • Uploading a DA Form

  • Viewing Company Management dashboards

  • Updating settings

Connections use HTTPS with Transport Layer Security (TLS) to help protect information while it travels across public networks.

TLS helps prevent:

  • Eavesdropping

  • Data interception

  • Session tampering

  • Man-in-the-middle attacks


Modern TLS Standards

Army Flight Logbook uses HTTPS with modern versions of Transport Layer Security (TLS), as supported by our hosting providers and client platforms.

  • Reduce common network-based attacks

Older and insecure encryption protocols are avoided whenever possible.


Encryption at Rest

Information stored within Army Flight Logbook is protected using encryption provided by our cloud infrastructure.

Examples include:

  • Flight records

  • User profiles

  • Uploaded documents

  • Company Management information

  • Application settings

  • Authentication data

Encryption at rest helps reduce the risk of unauthorized access to stored information.


Google Cloud Encryption

Army Flight Logbook is hosted on Google Cloud Platform, which automatically encrypts customer data stored within supported services.

This includes services such as:

  • Cloud Firestore

  • Cloud Storage

  • Cloud Functions (temporary processing)

  • Firebase Hosting (where applicable)

Google manages the underlying encryption infrastructure as part of its cloud platform.


Password Protection

Passwords require special protection.

Army Flight Logbook never stores passwords in plain text.

Instead:

  • Passwords are securely hashed.

  • Authentication is managed through Firebase Authentication.

  • Password verification occurs without exposing the original password.

Even Frameworks Holdings LLC personnel cannot view your password.


Authentication Tokens

After a successful login, secure authentication tokens are used to identify your session.

These tokens help:

  • Keep you signed in securely.

  • Verify your identity.

  • Prevent unauthorized access.

  • Support secure synchronization between devices.

Authentication tokens are transmitted only over encrypted connections and expire according to platform and security requirements.


Encryption of Uploaded Files

Files uploaded to Army Flight Logbook, such as DA Forms, images, PDFs, and other supporting documents, are stored using secure cloud storage services.

These files benefit from encryption at rest provided by our cloud infrastructure and are accessible only through authenticated requests that satisfy our application access controls.


Database Protection

Flight records and related application data are stored within managed cloud databases that provide built-in security features, including:

  • Encryption at rest

  • Secure networking

  • Access controls

  • Audit capabilities

  • Managed backups

Application-level security rules further restrict who may access information stored within the database.


Secure Key Management

Encryption is only effective when cryptographic keys are protected.

Army Flight Logbook relies on managed cloud key management systems provided by our infrastructure partners. These systems are designed to securely generate, store, rotate, and protect encryption keys while reducing operational risk.

Frameworks Holdings LLC does not manually manage customer encryption keys for day-to-day operations.


Secrets Management

Applications often require credentials such as API keys, service account credentials, and configuration secrets to operate securely.

Where appropriate, these sensitive values are stored using managed secret storage services rather than being embedded directly into application code or public repositories.

Access to secrets is limited to authorized services and personnel with a legitimate operational need.


Network Security

Encryption is only one part of protecting information.

Army Flight Logbook also benefits from network security controls that may include:

  • HTTPS enforcement

  • Secure cloud networking

  • Firewall protections provided by infrastructure providers

  • Traffic monitoring

  • DDoS mitigation (where applicable)

  • Secure service-to-service communication

These controls work alongside encryption to reduce exposure to common network-based threats.


Email Security

Communications sent by Army Flight Logbook, such as password reset emails, account verification messages, and important service notifications, are transmitted through trusted email providers.

While email travels across external systems beyond our direct control, we use reputable providers and encourage users to verify that emails originate from official Army Flight Logbook domains before interacting with links or attachments.


What Encryption Does Not Protect Against

Encryption is an important security measure, but it cannot protect against every threat.

Encryption cannot prevent:

  • Weak or reused passwords.

  • Phishing attacks.

  • Malware on a user's device.

  • Social engineering.

  • Unauthorized access caused by sharing account credentials.

  • Compromised email accounts used for password recovery.

Users play an important role in maintaining account security by protecting their devices and credentials.
